19 year old high blood pressure?? 140/92?

I am 19, a college student. I walk at least a mile combined to clasees, about 5 days a week. I am not extremely active, but I have been working out 3 days a week (anaerobic), but quit that about a month ago. I do not smoke, drink, and I only drink water.
As far as family history, I have no idea. I dont associate with any of the men in my family, so i really dont know. My mom’s blood pressure is usually very low though (90/60). I have always had normal BP up until about 6 months ago (that I know of). I sometimes play sports, so I am not what you would consider sedintary. As far as my diet, I eat pretty healthy, I always try to get a variety of foods in, but I have always been a meat lover.
I dont really know anything about BP, but have been taking my BP 2-3 times a day, and most days it is somewhat high ( usually around 130/85), but some days is very high, like today 140/90. I have recorded extremely high measurements on electronic BP machines, but I dont regaurd those, as I hear they can be inaccurate. I am going to see the doctor this friday, but I want to know, if i am diagnosed with hypertension at such a young age, is it going to reduce my life span? and is it something I can ‘cure’ if you will, myself, or will it always be a problem? I know they say you can control it, but if i were to lose some weight ( I am around 20 pounds overweight, mostly around the gut ) . Has it probably done any irreversible damage already?
